Easter fun!

Spring break is a great time to get together with family and friends for a good home cooked meal and great conversation. One tradition we have in my family is to start by coloring and decorating eggs with our families. Each year we try different ways to decorate our eggs so we can have a egg hunt in our front yard with the kids. My youngest, who is 2 loves to look for eggs over and over, but my 14-year-old say, "how lame." So she is past the running around the yard searching for eggs, but that doesn't mean all the fun is over. My husband and I hide the baskets and put clues around the house in order for our oldest to find her basket, this is a way we have found to keep her in the cheerful mood of the holiday. As soon as the children are up they begin their hunt for their baskets, usually big sis helps little sis out, and as they search I begin to cook up some pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I usually make a few different types so we have a variety to choose from, chocolate chip, strawberry, blueberry and raspberry! Cooking is one of my favorite pastimes which is why it is essential to have a great set of pots and pans.
